I saw the most amazing thing today.
A female bird, something like a blue sparrow, is injured on the side of the street. For days, her mate brings her food, and watches over her, despite the danger it is to his own life. Her condition is appalling; she cannot fly or move. Her legs are broken, her wings are useless. And yet the male comes or her every day, feeding her and protecting her, only leaving to maybe hunt for himself.
One day, he returns to her, only to find her lifeless body. He tries to feed her, but to no avail. Her red chest had dulled, her bright eyes closed. Shocked by the sight, he tried to pull her away, but her body would not give.
He stood next to her, crying out loudly, mourning for her death.
This small sight lead me to one conclusion.
Life is all the same.
Humans and animals, they aren't different. Neither are more important than the other. Death affects us, change affects us, love affects us. We are born for no other reason than to live, if you can believe that. There is no greater purpose other than the ones we create for ourselves. There is no ultimate answer to "Why we're here". Why? Because it's not even a question.
"Why are we here?" A common question uttered from the mouths of men who take their insights too seriously. Even I am a victim of this. We are here to live. Not to entertain. Not to suffer. To live however we can. To survive. To hunt, to love, to feel. So here's the ultimate answer if you haven't already figured it out:
"Why not?"
We have everything to gain and nothing to lose as soon as we pop out of the womb, and that goes for every species. There is no difference between man and mutt, and that is a fact, other than the fact that man is a destructive power that cannot be dominated.
You really think cows and dogs couldn't kill every last one of us? Don't make me FUCKING laugh. They choose not to. That is the real difference. They don't want to dominate anything. They're living their purpose! They don't wonder "why are we here, oh GOD I WANNA KNOW!", they just live. They just DO. Something humans can't quite commit to.
Even when they're being tortured, caged, abused. They can bounce back and live, and do what they were born to do. Humans are constantly revolving the world around themselves...
God; do I believe in him?
Yeah, I do. Because something tells me that there's a greater power at play when I have no explanation for why two beautiful lovers had to face the tragedy that we humans face every day: The loss of a love one. But you know what? Life goes on. The only thing these pictures, my story, was missing was an ending. What came next?
